One-day visit — choose your route
A one-day plan on Snowdon depends on which route you are taking. The six routes start from five different trailheads, each with different parking logic, transport options, arrival timing, and day shape. There is no single generic one-day itinerary that fits all routes — pick your route and use the specific plan for it.
Why the route choice changes your whole day
The most common planning mistake is arriving at the nearest-looking car park and starting the nearest-looking path. The six routes start from five different trailheads, with different parking requirements, transport options, and departure times. Confusing them wastes half the day.
The Llanberis Path starts in Llanberis village. The Pyg Track and Miners' Track both start at Pen y Pass — which requires advance booking and fills extremely early. The Watkin Path starts at Pont Bethania in Nant Gwynant. The Rhyd Ddu and Snowdon Ranger paths start on the quiet western side of the mountain. These are not interchangeable starting points.
